What The Data Tells Us

The need for Foster Carers is increasing in the UK

There are at any one time more than 80,000 children in the UK in the care system

As the rise of children and young people in care grows, so does the need for foster carers. The UK currently has over 80,000 children in care, this is an increase of 2% from 2019 and nationally there is a shortage of over 8,500 foster homes.
All children want to be living in a safe, nurturing home where they are cared for and feel wanted and fostering gives them the opportunity to experience family life without fear of violence, abuse and poverty.

We are Looking to Recruit Foster Carers

There is an on-going national shortage of foster carers in the UK and as the number of children entering the care system increases, so the need for foster families grows.
It is estimated that the current shortfall of fostering households is in excess of 8,000.

Aim High is committed to offering children in care a safe and nurturing foster home and our Recruitment Team is keen to speak to anyone who is thinking about fostering.
We recruit Foster Carers from diverse backgrounds and there is no fixed foster carer profile.

We want our Carers to reflect the local community and to have an understanding of the cultural and religious needs of the children and young people that are placed with them.

Carers can be male or female, married, single, cohabiting, same sex couples, mothers and daughters etc. All form part of the Aim High Team.

By promoting and embracing diversity, we ensure the opportunity to foster is accessible to everyone and that more choice is available to local authorities when seeking suitable placements.
