01. Contact Us
It all starts with a conversation and an enquiry form. Once your basic eligibility has been confirmed we will arrange to visit you in your home.
02. Home Visit
A member of Aim High will visit you at your home to gather further information about you, your family life and your decision to foster.
03. Application form
Once your Initial Home Visit has been deemed successful, Aim High will send you an application form to complete and return. Upon receipt of this we will inform you of our intention to progress and assign you an Assessing Social Worker
04. Preparation Training
The Assessment (Form F Assessment) takes between 4-5 months and involves lots of talking and sharing of past experiences etc and checks are completed to determine your suitability to foster.
You will attend preparation training over 2-3 days. Our skills to foster training will give you a true insight as to what it means to foster and what you can expect from Aim High, Local Authorities and the children placed with you.
06. Attend Panel
Once your Assessment has been completed it will be sent to an independent fostering Panel. You will then be asked to attend Panel and recommendations regarding your application will be made. You will be informed of these recommendations on the day of Panel.
07. Your Journey Begins!
Your Panel recommendations are then sent to the Agency Decision Maker who will in turn make a final decision regarding your approval. You will then become an Approved Foster Carer and ready to foster!
